The King’s Award for Enterprise is the most prestigious award for businesses, recognising and celebrating business excellence across the UK. Our thriving business ecosystem is something that should be celebrated and recognised.

As a champion of North East business, the Chamber are delighted to work with HM Lieutenancies of the Nort East, highlighting this fantastic opportunity to members and businesses across the region.

Successful recipients of the award receive a Grant of Appointment and can display the award emblem for up to five years. They also gain access to a thriving alumni network of previous award recipients.

His Majesty The King personally approves the Awards, supported by the Department for Business and Trade who publicly announce the recipients.

The four categories of award are:

  • International Trade.
  • Innovation.
  • Sustainable Development.
  • Promoting Opportunity through social mobility.

Although the application may take between 20 and 50 hours to complete, the King’s Award can open new doors in terms of securing new contracts, venturing into new markets, and growing the business. For more detailed information, please visit: https://www.gov.uk/kings-awards-for-enterprise.

This informal workshop event will include:

  • background, eligibility, and application information,
  • perspectives from a past recipient of the award,
  • open discussion and Q&A for businesses.

This workshop is led by the Lieutenancy of Tyne & Wear in partnership with the Lieutenancies of Durham, Northumberland and North Yorkshire, which makes this open to all Chamber members across the region.
