An opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and businesses who are passionate about young people’s employability & work-readiness
Over the past year, more than 4,000 underrepresented young people across the North East participated in our employability programme, with 9 in 10 gaining new skills and knowledge, and 85% being inspired to explore different careers.
The MyBigCareer North East breakfast event is our chance to say thank you to those who enabled this impact, but also to mobilise new collaborations to help us support local young people on their pathway to employment.
The need for careers guidance and employability support has never been greater, with over 1 million young people in the UK now NEET.
Alan Milburn’s recent Young People and Work Interim Report on youth unemployment highlights the importance of collective action to create opportunities for young people:
“The system cannot claim to prepare young people for the labour market while keeping employers at arm’s length from the classroom.”
Join us to hear from schools, employers and young people, and connect with like-minded individuals who are passionate about supporting young people to thrive within the North East’s future workforce.
Places are limited, so we recommend registering your interest in attending on Eventbrite as soon as possible.
Please also encourage employer contacts within your network to attend who might be well-placed to work with us to offer workplace experiences and employability support to local young people.
We do hope to see you there
